In anticipation of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, we’re looking at everything we know will be there some things that may show up, and what we know about the various projects thus far. The San Diego Comic Con is the biggest pop culture convention in the world, and many studios release new information on projects, new trailers, and much more over the five days of the convention. Today we’re taking a look at the Iron Fist and the Marvel/Netflix Shows.
Marvel and Netflix have announced a panel at SDCC for the second season of Iron Fist. The first season of the show was panned by critics and fans; it is widely considered the weak link in the Netflix/Marvel Universe. The character of Danny Rand/Iron Fist, played by Finn Jones, has grown a bit from the team-up show, The Defenders, and his appearance in Season 2 of Luke Cage. That growth and the potential for Luke to show up in Iron Fist gives a higher appeal to the second season of the series. The panel will likely include footage from what has been shot on the show thus far and may reveal some details of the new season’s storylines. The big question is if that will be enough to entice viewers to continue on with the character.
While Iron Fist is the only show confirmed for the panel, Netflix and Marvel have been known to include their yearly panel to give a sneak peek into the other series in production. Last year at the Defenders panel, Jon Berenthal came out and gave the audience a tease for the Punisher series. The third season of Daredevil and the second season of Punisher are both in production; honestly, I would not be surprised if we get a glimpse of one, if not both of the shows. This is especially likely considering that Berenthal is already rumored to be in town for the Walking Dead panel, as he is expected to return to the show this upcoming season.
There’s bound to be at least a few new bits of info concerning Iron Fist and the other Marvel/Netflix shows coming our way. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on all of it!
