The 2018 San Diego International Comic Con is in full swing and we’ve got all the big updates you want to hear about! At this year’s SDCC we were treated to our first look at the return of the popular DC animated series, Young Justice: Outsiders. The series will return via DC’s streaming service, DC Universe. Which will also host the live action Titans series and a handful of other original content. We’ve got new info on Young Justice: Outsiders as well as the streaming service, beginning with the trailer for the series return which you can watch below.
The new season will focus on the team, led by Nightwing, working to fight meta human trafficking. The show was brought back to life after five years of fans clamoring for a new season, and the show’s extremely high view count via Netflix. The producers joked that they had made the perfect binge worthy show, five years too early. The original series aired on Cartoon Network for two seasons, from 2011-2013.
As for the streaming site that will house the new season, DC Universe is already taking preorders, and will officially begin this fall. As of now the service is set for $75 for a yearly subscription or $7.99 a month, with yearly preorders offering an extra three months for free, and an entry into a sweepstakes to win tickets to the premiere of Aquaman.
The new site will feature years of older DC material. Ranging from the live action Superman films to Batman The Animated Series. As for additional original content, an animated Harley Quinn series is planned for the site, along with live action series for Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing. The latter of which is being produced by Aquaman Director James Wan.
It was also announced this weekend at SDCC that a new series based on the superhero Stargirl was being developed for the site. With mega producer Greg Berlanti putting the show together. Berlanti is an Executive Producer on the site’s Titans series and the man behind the Arrow-verse shows on the CW.
DC Universe goes live this fall, with preorders available now. Keep following Poor Man’s Spoiler throughout the weekend for more updates on everything coming out of SDCC 2018!
