91st Oscar Blast: Best Picture

Finally, we get to the Best Picture category!

Tonight is the 91st Annual Academy Awards! And all day today we’ll be bringing you a rundown of each category as well as reviews of the nominated films. Next up, we’re looking at the Best Picture category. We’ll explain what the category means and who the frontrunner is as of now.

The Best Picture goes to the film the Academy believes was the best of the year. This year, the nominees are:

  • Black Panther
  • BlacKkKlansman
  • Bohemian Rhapsody
  • The Favourite
  • Green Book
  • Roma
  • A Star is Born
  • Vice

While most of the films deserve the nomination there are a few that definitely don’t. That being said the frontrunner here has to be Roma. That film is doing an amazing job this award season and has taken home almost everything. If Roma doesn’t win it would be a surprise. There’s a slight chance that The Favourite could win thanks to it’s message of female empowerment, but it’s not a guarantee. As of now though, it’s likely Roma’s biggest competitor as of now, but this is without a doubt Roma‘s to lose.

So our final say as of now:

Best Picture: Roma
